For our second CinéMaktaba screening of the year at Cinéma du Musée we presented The Matrix, a cult classic that’s created a lasting impact on Yassin even after all these years.
For an entire generation, THE MATRIX was more than just a film: it was a revelation. For Narcy, discovering it as a teenager remains just as impactful today, as the Wachowski sisters’ visionary take on technology, identity, and our perception of reality has lost none of its relevance.
“The Matrix was so crucial in my teenage years. Not only did it go hand in hand with a hybrid identity, it made me realize the power of manifestation and the moving image. That movie was a space-shifting experience for my generation and to watch it all this time later, it still holds up as a magical realist view of the present digital world we live in.” - Yassin
