Zeina Jhaish is a Palestinian writer and educator from Gaza. Her work explores (self) love, womanhood, Palestine, resistance, and diasporic identity. She has been published with The Ghassan Kanafani Anthology, Prism International, and Letters to the Holy Land.
About Ancestral Daughter:
Zeina Jhaish embarks on an existential journey about her diasporic life in freeverse poetry as a Palestinian woman from Gaza. In a visceral blend of English and Arabic, she honors her heritage, mourns ongoing violence, and clings to hope throughout her debut collection's two parts: "Ancestral", which delves into exile, land, and the trauma of occupation, and "daughter," which reflects on womanhood, heartbreak, and rebirth.Ancestral Daughter is a witness to ancestral love and the unyielding spirit of the Palestinian people.
